Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson, 22, has been speaking about her life and childhood in her Facebook Watch series, Unfiltered.
In the latest episode, released on her Facebook page on July 21, the star reveals that she and her three brothers consider Norwegian dancer and rapper Omer Bhatti, 36, their “oldest brother”.
The news may come as a surprise to fans who have always thought Paris’s only brothers are Prince Jackson, 23, and Blanket Jackson, 18, however the children confirm that they and their father Michael Jackson, considered Omer their other sibling.
Omer Bhatti appeared on the episode himself and confirmed he is part of the Jackson family: “I consider myself an older brother because when Prince was born, my mom was hired to be Prince’s nanny and Paris, I’ve been there since she was a baby,” said Omer..
“I would say almost maybe even partly raised her. Yeah, she’s my little sister in every way.”
“I can’t say when I first met the kids,” he added, “Because that’s like ‘when’s the first time you met your siblings?’ I was there from the day they were born.”
“It was a lot of joy for me because I always wanted younger siblings, and I got that through Prince, Paris and [Blanket].”
Speaking about her 36-year-old brother, Paris says: “Both of my older brothers are like my best friends. I love them so much.”
“Anytime we see each other… we feel recharged when we spend time together.”
Paris went on to explain that she rarely, if ever, fights with Omer, but sometimes argues with Prince because they’re so close in age.
“We’ve really never had issues, never fought, never had arguments,” she said about Omer.
“Whereas Prince, who’s 14 months older than me, of course we get into tiffs and fights, it’s normal for siblings who are so close in age.”
The Norwegian dancer has seen all of the Jackson siblings grow up and has a unique insight into their personalities.
“Prince and Paris were pretty different when they were little, Paris was definitely a rebel, always more rebellious than Prince,” he said.
“Prince is always way more in line, compared to Paris, and he would also get after her,” he says. “He would see that he was always that big brother, trying to tell her right from wrong and he was the same way as me – very protective.”
Omer Bhatti, known by the stage name O-Bee, met Michael when he started performing aged 9 and spoke about their relationship: “Being on TV and having these appearances later led me to Michael Jackson,” he explained.
“Where he, in a way, adopted me and became like a mentor and a father figure for me.
“As a little kid, looking up to him, the way I did back then, it’s like everything that I saw, it’s like I was like a sponge, just taking up everything.”
Omer added: “He would later say that I was like a mini-version of him. And I ended up going on tour with him. I would have a seat, like, right on stage.”
